Wings Bearing Precious Seed was founded by Bob Adams in October of 1977. He was a pastor in Indiana who had gotten a burden for Scripture distribution from men like Don Fraser and Carlos Demarest. This burden grew to a calling on a mission trip where Brother Adams saw the dearth of Scriptures on the foreign field, first hand. From the beginning, Wings Bearing Precious Seed has been operated by faith and distribution has been our work. At first, a small piper aircraft and then a cargo Cessna U206 aircraft was used to haul Scriptures primarily into Central America. After a decade of flying and some sight related health problems, God led Brother Adams to continue the work of distribution, though without a plane.

For awhile, the “warehouse” was a truck trailer and shipments grew from boxes to pallets. In 1999, the first container was shipped with many more to follow. The truck trailer soon became inadequate and a warehouse was used in Tennessee, for several years before being moved to its current location in Georgia.

In 2006, Allen Johnson and his family joined the ministry and in 2007 Wings Bearing Precious Seed celebrated 30 years of ministry by shipping over six million Scripture portions. Ten whole containers of Scriptures were shipped to Honduras (2), the Canary Islands, Lebanon, Argentina, Brazil, Papua New Guinea, India (2), and Haiti. Bibles, New Testaments, Scripture portions, tracts, and gospel literature in more than 35 different languages have been shipped without charge to missionaries in more than 90 countries across the continents.

Another aspect of our ministry is our mission trips. We have taken many trips to several countries to help missionaries and national pastors. In the last few years, trips have been taken to Brazil, Guinea-Bissau (Africa), Honduras, South Africa, Lithuania, Canada, and Mexico. Scriptures were distributed, souls were saved, and churches were built. God is mightily blessing our ministry and we ask you to pray for us and participate with us to get Scriptures all over the world to independent Baptist missionaries and national pastors that love His Word and are winning souls and building churches.
